Leather Display Trays

Display trays in leather, made to your dimensions and your colours. A hide tray is a statement piece for a high-end counter. It will mark, and the marking is the look — if that is not wanted, specify saffiano instead.

What it does

A tray is the working surface of a counter. It comes out of the case, goes on the counter in front of the customer, and holds the pieces still while they are looked at.

Leather on a display tray, specifically

A hide tray is a statement piece for a high-end counter. It will mark, and the marking is the look — if that is not wanted, specify saffiano instead.

Getting the proportion right

Slot layout is the whole decision — how many, what for, and how they are grouped. A ring tray with a row of slots serves a different sale from a mixed tray with one of each.

How leather is applied to a display form

Hide is cut, skived at the edges and wrapped, and grain varies from panel to panel. On a set of risers we cut every piece from the same hide so the set matches, and we say so on the drawing.

Where it is used

Counter selling, safe storage and trade-fair stands.

Leather under case lighting

Hide reflects softly and unevenly, which is what makes it look expensive and what makes it hard to photograph. It also darkens where it is handled, so an open-counter display in hide develops a patina rather than staying new.

The mistake to avoid

A tray that holds too many pieces stops being a presentation and becomes storage. Trays that come out of the case should hold what you intend to show.

Why leather

Leather-covered display carries the grain and the slight colour variation of hide. On a counter it reads as furniture rather than as a prop, and it ages with the shop rather than staying new.

Keep out of direct window sun, which lightens hide unevenly. A conditioner once a year on a piece that stays on show.

Frequently asked questions

Can display trays be made in our brand colour?

Yes — the leather is matched to a Pantone reference or a physical swatch, and confirmed on a sample.

What sizes do display trays come in?

They are made to your dimensions. Slot layout is the whole decision — how many, what for, and how they are grouped. A ring tray with a row of slots serves a different sale from a mixed tray with one of each.

Is leather a good choice for a display tray?

A hide tray is a statement piece for a high-end counter. It will mark, and the marking is the look — if that is not wanted, specify saffiano instead.

What goes wrong most often with display trays?

A tray that holds too many pieces stops being a presentation and becomes storage. Trays that come out of the case should hold what you intend to show.

Can display trays be made to match our boxes?

Yes — the same leather and the same colour across boxes and display, ordered in one run.
