Cushion sizing
A watch sits over a cushion, not on a flat pad. The cushion diameter has to suit the strap so the watch is held open without stretching a leather strap or straining a bracelet.
One cushion size will not suit a 36 mm dress watch and a 44 mm diver. For a range, the cushion is specified to the middle and made slightly compressible, or different cushions are used in the same roll.
Clasp clearance
A deployant clasp needs more room under the cushion than a pin buckle. This is the measurement most often missing from a brief, and it is the one that makes a case close on the clasp.
Send the clasp type with the case diameter.
Rolls versus cases
A roll is soft, ties or snaps shut, and packs into a bag. It suits one to three watches and it is what most collectors travel with.
A rigid case protects better, stacks, and is what a representative carries. It also weighs more and takes a fixed amount of space whether it is full or not.
Multi-watch formats
Two, three, four and six are the usual counts. Beyond that a case becomes heavy enough that the handle and the hinge specification change.
Whether the watches sit in a row or in two tiers is a presentation decision as much as a space one.
Glazed lids
A window lets the watches be seen without opening the case — useful in a locked display. It adds a surface that shows handling and that cannot be wiped without opening the case.

Frequently asked questions
What measurements do you need for a watch roll?
Case diameter, strap type and clasp type. If it is for a range, the largest and smallest case.
Can one roll hold watches of different sizes?
Yes, with cushions specified to suit the range, or with different cushions in the same roll.
Does a leather strap need different treatment from a bracelet?
Yes. A leather strap should be held open without being stretched; a metal bracelet tolerates a tighter cushion.
Can a case be made to carry in hand luggage?
Yes — tell us the dimension limit you are working to and the case is built inside it.
