The credit line is part of the product
A reproduction is sold on what it reproduces, and an artist piece on who made it. That text has to appear somewhere the buyer keeps, which usually means a printed card sized to the interior or print inside the lid.
Printed inside the lid it cannot be lost; on a card it can be read and kept separately. Most shops end up specifying both.
Institutional identity
Museum branding tends to be restrained and typographic. Blind deboss and single-colour print on a matte material suit it; foil and gloss rarely do.
Where the institution has a brand manual, send it — matching it exactly is easier than matching a description of it.
Gift buying with no wrapping
Most museum jewellery is bought as a gift by a visitor who will not wrap it. A box that is presentable as it leaves the till does the wrapping's job, and a matching bag finishes it.
