Jewellery Packaging for Australia

Australia sells opal, South Sea pearls and coloured stone in volume, and it is a long way from every supplier. Both facts change the brief.

Opal needs a specific lining

Opal is soft and it crazes. A coarse lining will mark it and a lining that holds moisture is worse.

Short-nap microfibre suede is the safe answer. Tell us the box is for opal and it is specified that way.

South Sea pearls

Large pearls need a seat that supports without pressing. Nacre abrades against anything textured, so the lining is the whole decision.

A strand also needs a keeper — a loose strand in a long box arrives gathered.

Humidity in the north

Queensland and the Top End see sustained humidity that southern Australia does not. Adhesives and untreated hide behave differently there.

Where a box is for a tropical counter we will say which constructions hold up.

Freight and volume

Everything ships a long way. A construction that packs flat, or a box designed to nest, reduces what you pay per unit to get it there — and that is worth deciding before the shape is finalised.

Frequently asked questions

Do you ship to Australia?

Yes — we ship worldwide from Hong Kong.

What lining is safe for opal?

A short-nap microfibre suede. Avoid woven textures and anything that holds moisture.

Can boxes be made to pack flat?

Yes, in board constructions. Tell us freight matters and it is designed for it.

Do you make pearl strand boxes?

Yes, with a keeper so the strand cannot gather in transit.

Tell us what you need
