Leatherette Necklace Busts

Necklace busts in leatherette, made to your dimensions and your colours. Leatherette will not stretch over a compound curve, so a bust in it is built up in sections with the joins at the back and sides. It gives a hard, modern bust — and it is not the material for a design where the form must look seamless.

What it does

A necklace bust is a shaped form that holds a necklace the way it sits on a neck. It is the only display that shows a piece at its working shape — flat on a tray, a necklace reads as a line; on a bust it reads as a necklace.

Leatherette on a necklace bust, specifically

Leatherette will not stretch over a compound curve, so a bust in it is built up in sections with the joins at the back and sides. It gives a hard, modern bust — and it is not the material for a design where the form must look seamless.

Getting the proportion right

Height decides what it suits. A short bust presents a choker or a pendant at eye level in a counter case; a tall bust is for long chains and for window work where the piece has to be seen from standing height.

How leatherette is applied to a display form

Leatherette is wrapped and its edges are turned under, so every visible edge is a folded edge rather than a cut one. It will not stretch far, so a tight compound curve is built up in sections with the joins placed where they face away from the customer.

Where it is used

Counter cases, window displays and trade-fair stands.

Leatherette under case lighting

It has a slight sheen, so a strong spot will show a highlight along the top of a riser. That is usually flattering on a plain block and unflattering on a curved bust, which is worth knowing before you specify it.

The mistake to avoid

A bust that is too wide at the shoulder pushes a short necklace out of shape. Match the bust to the shortest chain you will show on it, not the longest.

Why leatherette

Leatherette display gives a harder, more architectural line than fabric. The grain catches light along an edge, which defines the shape of a riser or a tray.

Wipes clean, which is why it suits trays that go on a counter and come back.

Frequently asked questions

Can necklace busts be made in our brand colour?

Yes — the leatherette is matched to a Pantone reference or a physical swatch, and confirmed on a sample.

What sizes do necklace busts come in?

They are made to your dimensions. Height decides what it suits. A short bust presents a choker or a pendant at eye level in a counter case; a tall bust is for long chains and for window work where the piece has to be seen from standing height.

Is leatherette a good choice for a necklace bust?

Leatherette will not stretch over a compound curve, so a bust in it is built up in sections with the joins at the back and sides. It gives a hard, modern bust — and it is not the material for a design where the form must look seamless.

What goes wrong most often with necklace busts?

A bust that is too wide at the shoulder pushes a short necklace out of shape. Match the bust to the shortest chain you will show on it, not the longest.

Can necklace busts be made to match our boxes?

Yes — the same leatherette and the same colour across boxes and display, ordered in one run.
