The traditional jeweller's ground. It is warm, so yellow gold sits beautifully on it, and it reads as established before anything is opened — which is both the reason to choose it and the reason it looks like every other jeweller.

Little, because it is mid-dark and warm. It is one of the more forgiving colours for a counter box.

The interior is a separate lined tray dropped into the carcass, so the lining material is chosen independently of the shell.
