What blush does for the piece
A warm, pale ground that sits in the same family as rose gold without matching it, which is what makes that pairing work. It photographs well, which is most of why contemporary brands choose it.
What blush shows
Pale colours show dye-lot variation more than dark ones, because there is less pigment to hide behind. Two runs of the same blush will look further apart on a shelf than two runs of black.
Which metals and stones blush suits
Rose gold, strongly. Against white metals it can read slightly cheap, which is worth testing before committing a range.
Why lacquered wood
A wood carcass built up in layers of lacquer and polished back to a piano finish. This is the heaviest and most formal thing we make.
