What a pendant boxe has to do
A pendant box holds the piece against a board with the chain dressed either side, so the pendant is seen upright rather than lying flat. A slit or a hook near the top of the board takes the bail.
Why Voyage
Ring rolls and hooks hold pieces under movement — the roll grips the shank, the hook stops a chain migrating. This is the construction that survives a flight.
Getting the interior right
The board is sized to the drop of the pendant, not to the box. A short drop on a tall board leaves the piece floating; a long drop on a short board means the pendant rests on the base and the chain slackens.

Representatives visiting clients, trade fairs, and any jeweller who carries stock rather than shipping it.
The mistake to avoid
Bail thickness decides whether the slit holds the piece or lets it slide. A heavy bail on a fine slit will not pass; a fine bail in a wide slit will travel.
Worth knowing before you commit
A travel case is handled far more than a counter box, and the finish should be chosen for that. Saffiano takes it; a plain calf in the same colour will show the trip.

What logo methods suit saffiano leather?
The coating means foil sits on the surface rather than sinking in, so a hot-stamp stays crisp. Deboss is shallower than on plain calf, by the nature of the finish.
