Metal Plinths

Plinths in metal, made to your dimensions and your colours. A metal plinth is a frame with a faced top rather than a solid block. It reads lighter than any other plinth and it is the one that survives being moved.

What it does

A solid block that raises a single piece above everything around it. A plinth does not hold the piece — it holds the space around it.

Metal on a plinth, specifically

A metal plinth is a frame with a faced top rather than a solid block. It reads lighter than any other plinth and it is the one that survives being moved.

Getting the proportion right

Proportion is everything. A plinth that is too wide for the piece reads as furniture; too narrow and it looks unstable.

How metal display is made

Metal display is formed and plated or powder-coated rather than covered. The finish is decided at the plating stage and cannot be adjusted afterwards, so the sample matters more here than on any wrapped material.

Where it is used

Window centrepieces and single-piece feature displays.

Metal under case lighting

A polished metal display throws hard reflections and will bounce a spot straight back at the customer. Brushed and matt finishes are the usual specification in a lit case; polish belongs in a window where the light is controlled.

The mistake to avoid

Plinths are the display element most often bought in the wrong finish. It should match the tray it stands on, not the box it presents.

Why metal

Metal display — brass, gold finish, black or silver — gives the thinnest possible support. A metal stand almost disappears, which is the point: the piece appears to float.

Wipe with a dry cloth. A brushed finish hides handling better than a polished one.

Frequently asked questions

Can plinths be made in our brand colour?

Yes — the metal is matched to a Pantone reference or a physical swatch, and confirmed on a sample.

What sizes do plinths come in?

They are made to your dimensions. Proportion is everything. A plinth that is too wide for the piece reads as furniture; too narrow and it looks unstable.

Is metal a good choice for a plinth?

A metal plinth is a frame with a faced top rather than a solid block. It reads lighter than any other plinth and it is the one that survives being moved.

What goes wrong most often with plinths?

Plinths are the display element most often bought in the wrong finish. It should match the tray it stands on, not the box it presents.

Can plinths be made to match our boxes?

Yes — the same metal and the same colour across boxes and display, ordered in one run.
