Sage Velvet Ring Box

A ring presented in the Sage Velvet series — velvet, made to your dimensions, your colour and your logo. Sage velvet with cream is the contemporary green — softer and less formal than forest, and it works with the pale-wood, low-contrast shop fits that have become common.

What a ring boxe has to do

A ring box holds a single ring upright in a fitted slot so the stone faces the customer when the lid opens. Two covered pads sit side by side with a cut between them; the ring is pushed down into the cut and the foam closes on the shank under its own spring.

Why Sage Velvet

Sage with cream is the soft green — it reads contemporary rather than traditional, and it works with the pale-wood, low-contrast interiors that have become common.

Getting the interior right

The cut is set to the widest shank the box has to take. A slot cut for a 1.5 mm band will not seat a 4 mm signet, and a slot cut for the signet lets the band lie over. Give both extremes if the box covers a range.

Where it belongs

Modern independents and pale, minimal fit-outs.

The mistake to avoid

The measurement most often left out is the height of the setting. A raised solitaire needs clearance under the lid, and without it the lid presses on the stone.

Worth knowing before you commit

Pale greens shift under warm shop lighting and can read yellow. Check the sample under your own lights, not under daylight.

Velvet

Velvet is a cut-pile fabric with a longer, softer nap than microfibre suede. It is the traditional jewellery lining and still the one most buyers associate with a gift.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Sage Velvet series be made in a different colour?

Yes. The colour shown is the standard for the series; exterior, lining and stitching are all specified per order. Send a Pantone reference or a swatch and we match to it, then confirm on a sample.

What logo methods suit velvet?

Velvet does not hold a hot-stamp the way board or leatherette does. A metal plate, or a lid card, is the more reliable way to carry a logo on a velvet exterior.

What do you need to make a ring boxe?

The widest shank width, the height from the base of the shank to the top of the setting, and whether the box has to take a range or a single width.

Can I see it before ordering?

Yes. A physical pre-production sample is made to your specification and the bulk run is held to the sample you approve.
